Weight Gain Durning Pregnancy

I laughed dryly at this tip I found on the internet today... I was wondering what my weight gain "should" be during my pregnancy. With Preston I gained way more than necessary (close to 50 pounds, eek!) and I don't want to repeat that again. This was mainly due to my eating whatever I wanted even though it was bad for me like Wendys 10 pc. chicken nugget meal with a sprite 3-5 times a week (gross). Luckily, I've craved mostly healthy foods this pregnancy... for the most part. I don't think that loads of ranch dressing on my salad is considered a healthy snack. Whatever! This tid bit of info is dumb... like I really need advice on how to gain weight.

How Can I Gain the Right Amount of Weight During Pregnancy?
If your health care provider recommends gaining more weight during pregnancy, here are some suggestions:

Eat five to six small, frequent meals every day.
Keep quick, easy snacks on hand, such as nuts, raisins, cheese and crackers, dried fruit, and ice cream/yogurt.
Spread peanut butter on toast, crackers, apples, bananas, or celery. One tablespoon of creamy peanut butter will provide about 100 calories and seven grams of protein.
Add nonfat powdered milk to foods such as mashed potatoes, scrambled egg,s and hot cereal.
Add condiments to your meal, such as butter or margarine, cream cheese, gravy, sour cream, and cheese.

The only "plus" of winter and snow...

I love these pictures of Preston in the snow! This is in front of our gargae. Preston is sledding on the huge pile of snow that was pushed behind our house. This pile of crappy snow has made it difficult to pull my car out of the garage. I'm anxious for it all to melt and go away! But it is fun to watch Preston play in the snow.

Christmas Vacation

Finally! We went to San Diego for Christmas! This was our first Christmas at my home since we've been married, which is about 4 years. It was so much fun because all my sisters came down as well. So it was the first time in a long time that my family was all together (minus my brother Andrew who was absent). Plus we enjoyed seeing all my extended family who we haven't seen in so long. It was so nice to be apart of all the festivities. We went to the tide pools one day and Preston had such a blast picking up shells, touching sea creatures, and climbing around all the rocks. I got some great shots of him and Tyler there. We had tons of fun shopping, and eating out at all my favorite places. My parents took us all to Disneyland on christmas Day... big mistake! We thought it would be less crowded on Christmas day but we learned once we got there that it is one of the bussiest days of the year. Plus it rained a ton while we there. We still had so much fun and Preston was able to go on most of the rides. On our way back home to Utah we stopped in Las Vegas to hang with the Earls and spend New Years Eve with them. Of course we took advantage of the shopping there and went to the buffet at the Belagio. It was soooo yum! Thanks Jason & Katti for inviting us, we had a great time with you guys! It was a long trip and it was nice to come home.

I swear my belly grew 2 inches on our trip, which was partially due to all the eating, I'm sure.

Christmas morning, Santa brought Preston a Thomas train set!

Preston was a little possesive of his toys as you can see by the way he's hovering over his cousin, Tanner, and gripping his trains by the handful.

Point Loma Tide Pools... Spotted, the rare and wild lovebirds

Tanner & Preston... two peas in a pod

Cousins: Jayden, Kaleb, Brittley, Karly

Preston found this huge shell but we couldn't take it home since this is a protected reserve.

In Las Vegas at the Belagio... lavishly decorated

Two HOT baby mamas...

I'll post more pictures of the rest of our trip and Disneyland another time;o)

We're Having A...

We pretty much already knew this at 16 weeks when I went in for some testing and had an ultrasound. The doctor said it looked like a girl but was still early to tell for sure. He advised us not to buy any girl clothes until they could confirm it for us. I had my ultrasound yesterday and she was very cooperative in showing us all her parts. She even gave us a "thumbs up" on the screen! It was funny! She looks healthy so far but I have a low placenta that is near the opening of my cervix. Hopefully it will move up as it should as our baby grows and my belly gets bigger and there won't be any complications. I'm sure everything will be fine! We're not going to worry until there's a reason to worry. So yay! We're very excited to have a little princess!! Time to shop!

My baby is 2 years old!!

Hard to believe, but Preston turned 2 today (tear). I love my sweet little "moco". Preston is so tender and sweet. And if you know him you know how sociable (that's an understatement) and friendly he is... He says "HI!" to Everyone as if he's so happy and excited to see them, even strangers. He was born 2 days late and only weighed 6lbs 3oz and he's still my little pip-sqweek. He definately has his Dad's genes and will likely be slender and linear as he grows older;o) I feel so blessed to have him in my life. I love my little blue-eyed boy. I think it's going to take me a while to realize he's 2 years old now.
