OUCH!

Warning: the following images may be disturbing to some. Viewer discrection is advised.
****************

It looked a whole lot more worse in person. I took these pictures a couple hours after the accident so the swelling had gone down some.

Caroline was following her Dad in the house (through the front door). As Tyler came in the house, he left the door open for Caroline. Well the door to the Garage was open as well & it caused a gust of wind through the house that slammed our front door shut... right on Caroline's hand. Her hand was on the door jam so as it shut, it came right over her hand. It didn't latch closed infact it swang open a little bit after slamming on her poor little baby hand. It was so awful! She cried & I cried along with her. I had never heard her cry that way before, it was a really painful cry. We got in the car to take her to the Urgent Care b/c she wasn't moving her hand. But on the way she settled down & started moving it & using sign language. Our next inclination was that she was okay but we were a little unsure. So I said a prayer & we both felt comfort that she was fine & didn't need medical attention. The swelling lasted 2 hours until I was reminded by a thought to use deep blue on her hand (deep blue is an essential oil blend) I put it on her hand & within 15-20 minutes the swelling had gone down Significantly! Tyler & I were A-mazed. She's perfectly fine today & using her hand like normal, thankfully no broken or fractured bones.

Highland Splash Pad

This sweet spot is located in Highland (behind Kohlers that's just off the Highland/Apline Hwy). There's also a man-made "river" thats only 4" deep that connects to the Splash Pad. We discovered this place a couple weeks ago, it's really perfect for toddlers & little children. FYI: This place gets Crowded in the summer but with school in session, it's less crowded now so it's the best time to go.

Preston & Indie (my friend Brittanie's little girl)

This picture makes us LAUGH! They both have a similar cheezer face. I think Preston has met his match... in girl form ;o)

Jedi Master In Training

Preston is really into Star Wars right now. He knows all the characters from Obi One Kinobi to General Grievous & Count Duku. He'll act out the fighting scenes with his light saber as he watches the movies. The day I took this picture he had put together this costume by himself & was pretending to be his favorite character, Anakin Skywalker. Sometimes he's Darth Maul or Darth Vador, his character changes from day-to-day. I never thought a 3 year old could sit through an entire Star Wars movie, but he does... Every single movie & he loves it.

Camping 101:

Bring great friends who know EXACTLY what they're doing...

...that way when you forget a bunch of stuff, they'll have you covered!

We went camping at Moon Lake with the Earl family in July. We definately plan on returning to this sweet spot every year, it was beautiful. Some of my family came along with us as well (my parents, Lisa, Jen, Andrew & their kids). Moon Lake is up in the Ashley National Forest, about a 3 hr drive that is totally worth it. My Dad rented a little motor boat that we used to go fishing. We caught a lot of fish & had a delish fish dinner thanks to my mom & dad who made it yum-E!

We learned with Caroline that she needed to be restrained in a stroller when we were by the water. We went down to the lake to swim (I only made it half way in), my Dad was the only person who got in fully... and Caroline. As I got out to dry off Tyler had put Caroline down for a second to grab a towel & she went right for the water not stopping until she was head under. I ran after her as she was going under & grabbed her by her foot. She dangled there upside down in total shock. Crazy girl! I love her spontaneity but I definately have to keep close tabs on her.

Kattie- preparing her awesome crock pot potatoe recipe. They were a real winner... so is this picture!

And this one... ah, the double chin that I love! (thanks to my Sadleir genes)

Adorable little critters

Preston & Cohen playing & fighting over these 4wheelers. This is Preston's happy, smiley face before we went 4-wheeling...

...this is his face after 4-wheeling.

Explanation: the trail we went on was really rugged. We each had our whole family on one of the bikes. Preston was in front, Dad, Caroline, then Mom. As Tyler down-shiffted Preston lunged forward & hit his face on the bike. Preston was crying so Tyler looked at him & not noticing anything, said "you're fine buddy". When we got to the look out point his eye was swollen & bruised. Poor little moco. A couple days after this, the bruising spread around his eye. Tyler asked Preston what had happenned to him (to see what his response would be) and Preston said, "You did it DAD!" I was rolling with laughter as Tyler excitedly corrected him, "No! It was the 4wheeler!" The Earls were there when it happenned so they can vouch for Tyler if any questions are asked;o)

It was an eventuful, successful, wonderful camping trip! Can't wait to go again.

Preston Genius

"Mom I have a Carowine sister ...I want a Carowine brother, can we buy one? We can have 2 babies!"

"Carowine is cute... YA! Just wike Yoda! Yoda is cute too".

This was just within the last week that he said this to me. I love the way his little mind works.
